Homestudy Frenzy

Our homestudy is Wednesday!!!! After weeks of waiting, we are soooo excited. Do you have any idea what you can get done in a weekend when you know the social worker is going to be here on Wednesday? No? Well, I'll tell you...
1. Chop up dead tree that has been in our back yard for two weeks. Go Jon!!!!!!
2. Got a speeding ticket (ok, this is one that we aren't proud of - can you believe, it right before the homestudy???)
3. Purchase and plant 4 flats of annuals and approximately 20 other flowers and plants. That alone about did me in.
4. Mow and edge grass (this is mostly an exercise in stirring up dust since our grass died a slow painful death this summer - we are hoping the flowers takes the focus off the dead grass.)
5. Clean back porch
6. Wash all of the clothes that were on the floor in our closet and got wet when our toilet overflowed (no, I'm not kidding)
7. Go to home depot (see #6)
8. Clean house ( a bit of a stretch since the cleaning service will be here tomorrow but I did do several things that they don't do)
9. Go to the container store to purchase new trash can for kitchen. (In my frenzy, somehow I thought this was necessary.)
10. Purchase new wreath for front door
11. Frame three wedding photographs (yes, we were married two years ago)
12. Weed garden
13. Finish financial statement for dossier
14. Purchased fire extinguishers
15. Replaced batteries in the smoke alarms (I'm pretty sure we ripped the batteries out of one when the beeping was keeping us up one night - my gosh, are we fit to be parents??)
16. Started a blog!!!!!!

Here's what was on my list that didn't get done:
1. Paint the outside of the house
2. Remodel both upstairs bathrooms
3. Purchase new living room furniture

Sure they weren't realistic but I was considering it when we were at Home Depot for the toilet part!!!! Seriously, I think I am going to ask the social worker to at least threaten to come back every two months or so. If we could get this much done on a regalur basis....

This doesn't sound like much. What did your husband do? Anything?
